Atlanta Primus Signing for Saints

Welcome to Southampton, Atlanta!

Saints have completed the signing of forward, Atlanta Primus during the summer transfer window. The 26-year-old forward joins us from London City Lionesses and fresh off the plane from the World Cup with history making Jamaica. Another exciting new edition and prospect joining our ranks and bolstering our already very strong squad. Looking forward to seeing her in the famous red and white at St Marys!

Who is Atlanta Primus?

Atlanta Primus is a 26-year-old forward, who formerly played for fellow Championship side, London City Lionesses. Not only has Atlanta played for London City Lionesses, she has a shed load of experience through the years and also on the biggest stage of the footballing world, the World Cup.

Atlanta started her youth career with Chelsea, making her first senior debut for them in the 2014-15 season. Atlanta then moved across the pond to the United States and attended California State University. Whilst playing over in America, she was not only named in the Big West regional team, but she also was the programmes all-time assist leader, as well as being captain and MVP. Very impressive!

Upon completing her time at California StateUniversity, she came back to the UK and signed with championship side, London City Lionesses. Atlanta spent 3 seasons with London City, toying with the promotion race but just not getting there. She made 58 appearances for LCL over the seasons and picking up 15 goals for the club, last season scoring eight and assisting five. London City last season finished third.

Atlanta not only has club experience behind her, but she also has international, representing both England and Jamaica. Primus represented England internationally in her youth stages, playing in the U15, U17 and also the U19 levels. Following from that, she changed to international allegiance to Jamaica, whom she has played for on numerous occasions against so big oppositions. Most recently being the World Cup where the Reggae Girlz made history reaching the knockout stages of the tournament after coming second in the group stage, knocking powerhouse team Brazil out. Sadly, Jamaica was knocked out by Columbia and didn’t progress any further but what an experience and what an amazing memory to hold.

Welcome home Atlanta, we are all very excited to welcome you into Saints and cheer you on when the season starts. In Atlanta’s words “we are a force to be reckoned with” watch out Championship! ❤️🤍
