This Sunday why not make it a double Matchday as the First team take on Durham at St. Mary's kick off 12pm and the Saints RTC as they take on Southampton Women FC at Totton at 2pm in the Semi-Final of the Hampshire FA Cup.
Last time out in the Hampshire Cup for the Saints RTC was at home on the 23rd November 2022, which they ran out 10-0 winners over a very good and defensive Bournemouth Sports
Ladies. Yes the score line looks to be a landslide but it could of been so many more.
Should the Ladies provail they will play either AFC Bournmouth or Portsmouth in the Final.
From the start of the game the Saints RTC dominated and never let up, the pressure was too much for the Ladies from Bournnemouth as the chances and goals started flowing.
This was the first game this season, we as supporters could watch the youth of Southampton FC women and see how far they have come. With players such as Lucia Kendall and Megan Collett having made their way through the RTC Academy into the First team last season, it’s a fantastic opportunity to see what the future could hold!
We look foward to seeing a few ex-Saints in the oppisition ranks with players like Sara Luce, Kirsty Whitton, Shannon Sievwright and Shannon Albuery all who have help guide the club to where we are today in the Barclays Women’s Championship.
The draw took Place for the Semi-fanals of the Womens Hampshire Cup on the 9th February and the Saints were drawn away agaist some familier friends in Southampton Women FC
The RTC Acadamy have come up against Southampton Women FC in a different cup competion last season the Southampton Divisional FA Cup which Emilie Castagna got the only goal of the game on 22 minutes and Saints went on to lift the trophy at AFC Totton. this can be seen in CBBC The Football Academy
