Saints welcome The Red Devils to the Silverlake Stadium

This Sunday, Saints head to the Silverlake Stadium where they will be welcoming Manchester United in the FA Cup! Kick off will be 2pm with gates opening at 12:30! Be sure to get there early to secure your space as this match is a sell out!! This is going to be HUGE game for the girls so let’s all get behind them, cheer them on and hopefully we will witness a great game and test against United! Don’t worry, if you didn’t manage to get tickets the match will be streamed live on The FA Player!

Last time out

Unfortunately, we have never played United before so there is no last time out to look back too, hopefully next year though when we’re in the WSL (fingers crossed)

Looking ahead

I think us being fans, we know it is going be a VERY VERY tough challenge on Sunday and none of us reply expecting the girls to go out there and beat United. I mean it would be lovely and amazing if it did happen, but for us fans,

to see those girls go out there and play their game on the pitch and show United that they can and give them a battle, would be great to see. We’re not expecting them to win but then you can only beat the team that’s in front of you.

United have only played one match in the FA Cup so far and that was against up-andcoming team, Newcastle United. Man U won the match by 5 nil, with goals from Ella Toone, 2 for Nikita Parris, Rachel Williams and also Melvine Mallard. Whereas we are coming off an tough FA Cup win against Sunderland where 2 goals to nil were the difference to take us through into the next round.

One thing I have to say to the girls would be, to embrace the challenge that is put in front of them Sunday and also to go out there and enjoy it! Football is a journey that is full of challenges and experiences, and this is a true test and experience of what it’s like to play against a top team, gives us somewhat a taste of what the WSL will be like too!

Good luck girls, win lose or draw we will all be so proud of the outcome of what happens on that pitch!
