Welcome to Southampton, Molly

Saints have completed the permanent signing of midfielder, Molly Pike during the summer

transfer window. The 22-year-old striker joins us from Leicester. Another exciting new edition

and prospect joining our ranks and bolstering our already strong team, with her WSL

experience. Looking forward to seeing her in the famous red and white!

Who is Molly Pike?

Molly Pike is a 22-year-old midfielder who formerly played for WSL side, Leicester City. The

south coast born star started her career in Dorset before heading to Hampshire centre of

excellence (now Saints FC Women), so you could initially say welcome back!

Molly moved along to Chelsea youth side where she was part of the team that came runners up in the 2018/19 WSL academy league, in which she contributed too after scoring 14 goals in the 17 appearances that she made.

In 2019, Molly signed her first professional contract with Everton, which saw her playing topflight football in the WSL. She made her first senior appearance against a team we know well, Bristol City, before bagging her first senior goal in November 2019. She went on to making 21 appearances for the Toffees and scored 2 goals before joining Bristol City on loan.

Her time at Bristol saw her make 12 appearances as a Robin in all competitions. Following her loan at Bristol, she signed for Leicester City in the 2021/22 season, she made 39 total appearances for the Foxes during her time with them.

Not only does she have a hot bed of WSL experience behind her, but she has also captained the England U19 side before getting called up into the Lionesses U23 side.

We welcome you to Southampton Molly and were so excited to see you play and see what you bring to the mighty red and white!

A little bit of trivia about Molly Pike she also played alongside our very own Kayla Rendell as they beat Telford 5-4 on penalties to take the title.

A SCHOOLGIRL five-a-side football team from Poole has been crowned double-winning national champions following a dramatic sudden death penalty shoot-out.

The Year 7 pupils, from Broadstone Middle School, took the English Schools Football Association (ESFA) title after beating Thomas Telford School 5-4 on penalties in a tense final earlier this month.

Thomas Telford needed to score to keep their hopes alive, but Broadstone’s goalkeeper Kayla Rendell pulled off a fine save to ensure the trophy came back to Poole.

Captain Molly Pike and Ella Wright converted both their penalties after both teams forced the shootout into its knockout stages This fiercely-contested match took place at Derby’s Soccerdome, where eight top teams who came from more than 400 initial entries battled it out for supremacy.
